Every insurance agent NEEDS a business card! It is the easiest and most affordable way to market your agency to the public. It is also a key element in your insurance marketing plan. However, it is often the most overlooked component in most insurance agent?s marketing strategy.

When it comes to boosting your sales, how effective are they really? When you hand out your business card to someone in any public forum, what are they going to do with it? Are they going to keep it in case a need arises someday for one of your products? Or, is it going straight into the garbage can?

In some cases, it is the latter. Usually, it depends on whether on that prospect?s interest level in your services. If you didn?t present yourself well enough or ENGAGE them in any way, then your business card is meaningless. Having an effective sales pitch is a critical building block in any prospecting strategy. In addition to that, you can still effectively use business cards to your advantage when developing your sales plan of attack.

There is a misconceived notion about business cards. Most insurance agents only think of their business card as a simple reference that contains very basic information of how they can be reached. In some cases, these are how their business cards have been designed to be used.

By putting some effort into implement change in the overall appearance of your business card, you may notice an increased interest in your business! You need to put yourself into the prospects shoes. If you were the prospect being handed your particular business card, what would be your initial impression of your own business? In so many ways, your business card speaks volumes about YOU and your BUSINESS!

A long time ago, people just used to include their name, company name, job position, address, and one phone number on their business card. Some would also include their cell phone and e-mail. It is important to keep the type face small, but also readable for everyone! Keep in mind, there are some people that have difficulty reading the print on business cards.

If you have a company logo and a sharp looking picture of you, then use it! Make sure you have enough room on your business card to accommodate these features because you want to avoid having it look too cluttered with information.

Adding color can really make your business cards pleasing to the eye! It is also relatively inexpensive. However, you need to be careful with color. Ensure your information is still clearly legible.? Choose colors that are appropriate to your line of business and to you.

Remember that your business card is not just a reference tool, but it is also a great way to generate interest in your agency?s products and services! Most importantly, it is a means of helping you reach the modern consumer!

Even though a business card fits into traditional marketing tactics, you can always use it to promote your online presence. By including a link on your business card to your agency Facebook page, or pictures of social icons can get the message across that you are social networking. Now whoever has your business card can know to also find you on social media sites. It is about being in the forefront of the consumers mind at all times, so expose them to all your promotional channels.
