sound that holds its own with today?s main stream artists. Anthony ?Cali?
Boatswain, was born and raised in California, and later moved to Brooklyn,Ny
to pursue his dreams of becoming an artist and a producer.? Laison ?Frizzy Fermz? Edwards,? hails from Brownsville Brooklyn. Rapping since the tender age of 12, he is known for his unpredictable delivery and clever word play. Cali & Frizz bring a breath of fresh air to the Hip Hop game. Their music is original and versatile, and the chemistry between the two is undeniable.
IAA:What is your music background?
Frizzy: I have been rapping since I was 12 years old. Growing up, I was always in rap cyphers with the older guys in my hood. Writing has always come natural to me. Growing up in Brownsville was hard and some of my struggle is reflected in my music.
Cali: I?ve been making beats for years. I?ve always had a deep passion and love
for music.? I started taking rapping seriously when I met Frizz.
IAA:? Why do you want to be in the Music Industry?
CALI &FRIZZ:? This is what we love to do. Coming straight out of Brooklyn. New York, our surroundings don?t have much to offer us.? All we have is music, period!
IAA:? What topics do you write about in your songs?
CALI&FRIZZ:? We write about everything! We like to think outside the box when we make music. Most of the topics we discuss in our songs either come from personal
experience or the way we are feeling in a particular moment. We love making music everyone can relate to, dance to, and bump in their car. We make feel good music.
IAA: Who is your fan base directed towards?
CALI&FRIZZ:? We really don?t aim for any particular fan base. Our whole idea is to introduce
people to our music who normally wouldn?t listen to hip hop. We are different. We want to promote positive music. You don?t see that too often in this generation of music and we want to change that.
IAA:? Who in the Hip Hop game has inspired you?
Cali:? We both have different influences in music. For me I would say Jadakiss, Max B, 2pac , Stack Bundles, Dr. Dre , Snoop , Ice Cube, and Timbaland
Frizzy:? I?m a Underground hip hop head, I am inspired by Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, 2pac, Biggie, Jay Z, Kid Capri, Mos Def , Eminem, Method Man, Reakwon ,
Ghostface Killa, and The Cool Kids
IAA:? How would you describe your music to people?
CALI&FRIZZ:? Our music can?t be described. it?s good music for everyone. Any age and any group can accept our music. Our music can be described as being ?out the box.?
IAA: ? What makes you stand out from other artist ?
CALI&FRIZZ:? Most artist have one style of beat, or ?swag? they stick to . We just do what we feel. If we get a great idea, we do a song about it. You really can?t put Cali & Frizz in a box. We can easily transition from making an down south club banger to a classic hardcore hip hop song all in the one day. We don?t pay attention to genre. Our genre of Hip Hop is Cali & Frizz.
IAA:? What are some upcoming projects, you are currently working on?
CALI&FRIZZ:? We are currently working on a mixtape and a music video for our new single ?Stroll.?
IAA:? What are your career goals? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
CALI&FRIZZ:? Having our record ?Get Fly?? played all over the US on the hottest radio stations. We know what we are capable of and our goal is to be known as one of the best duos to ever do it like Talib and Hi Tek.
